BE AN AUTHOR IN 2012!

Join CLAUDIA GERE as she guides you step by step through the decisions and self-discovery that will propel your journey to becoming a successful author. Determining what book you should write, what it will look like, as well as how you will write, publish, and market your book will give you a crystal clear path for starting and finishing. In four, one-hour weekly sessions, the webinar gives you the information you need to create the book that supports and furthers your goals. You will receive a notebook to guide you through the choices we discuss as well as the resources referenced during the workshop sessions. A recording for each session will be immediately available if you miss a week as well as giving you the opportunity for review at a later date.

 

Week 1:

Week one sets the stage for determining what book you will write and testing it for success.

o  Develop clear goals for your book, so you avoid writing the wrong book

o  Define what your book will be about

o  Develop your book concept statement, an essential component of a compelling book proposal

o  Research the current competitive landscape for your book from the perspective of a publisher

o  Write goals for completing your book

Week 2:

Learn the essentials and inside tips for creating a book like those of seasoned professional authors.

o  Learn the elements of a book and important roles they play, including marketing

o  Explore the many different kinds of nonfiction books and develop a template for yours

o  Discover what makes a bestselling book title

o  What you need to know about editing and hiring the right one

Week 3:

Explore different types of books and determine which will be easiest for you to write and the easiest ways for you to write it.

o  Choosing your voice and style

o  Explore the different types of books to find what’s easiest for you to write

o  Explore different ways to write a book

o  Find your best strategy to make the time to write

o  What you need know about copyrights and permissions

Week 4:

Learn your publishing option pros/cons and processes as well as book marketing strategies.

o  Understand the pros and cons of traditional, self-, and ebook publishing

o  Learn the resources you need and the steps for each of the three publishing strategies

o  Discover the formula for successful cover design and layout

o  Hear the essentials for successful marketing and developing a personal plan for your book
